That’s Not My Neighbor – Dramatic gatekeeper simulation game, challenging your observation skills

That’s Not My Neighbor is an indie game that is creating a buzz in the simulation genre community with sci-fi elements. With a slightly creepy graphic style and interactive gameplay, the game puts you in the role of a janitor (doorman) of a special apartment building, where Doppelgangers (impostors) are lurking under the guise of familiar neighbors.

Attractive plot: When “neighbors” are no longer safe

In the game, you're recruited by the Department of Doppelganger Detection (D.D.D.) to protect the residents. Verify identities, check documents, and determine who is permitted entry to the building. But hidden behind them are aliens who impersonate humans—and one moment of distraction could send the entire complex into chaos.

Gameplay: The Sharp Eye Survives

The That’s Not My Neighbor game offers a unique job simulator experience. Players must:

  • Scrutinize the profiles, photos, and personal information of each person who knocks on the door.
  • Identify the smallest differences between "real people" and fakes.
  • Decision: Allow entry, refuse, or let D.D.D. handle it.
  • The tension heightens as each decision directly affects the outcome of the game.

Different game modes and results

There are four different game modes in the game:

  • Campaign Mode: Perform daily tasks to unlock various endings based on your performance.
  • In arcade mode, see what your best score and fastest time are.
  • Nightmare mode: Increase the difficulty; ideal for adventure-loving players.
  • Custom Mode: Create uniquely themed crafts to help each resident solve their own challenges.

Sound and Graphics: Perfectly Eerie

  • This eerie, pixelated, retro art style evokes a sense of mystery. In the background, music swells and recedes, and the players are perpetually tense.
