What is Mischief Night?

Mischief Night is a fast-paced survival horror game that combines arcade-style shooter mechanics with the chaos of Halloween mischief. Inspired by classic games like Operation: Wolf, Mischief Night puts you in the role of a mischievous kid roaming the neighborhood at night with a slingshot and a carton of eggs, aiming to stir up some trouble. However, the situation takes a deadly turn when a barrel of Zomb-Ex spills into a nearby church graveyard, bringing the dead back to life.

As hordes of zombies rise from their graves, the game shifts from harmless fun to a desperate fight for survival. You must use your limited supply of eggs to fend off the undead, all while avoiding being bitten and infected. With only five bites before you succumb to the zombie virus, the challenge lies in conserving your ammo, making strategic shots, and surviving the night. The game’s main objective is to stay alive until the moon sets, as the zombie outbreak only lasts while the full moon is in the sky.

How to Play Mischief Night

Mischief Night is an arcade-style survival game where quick reflexes, smart resource management, and timing are key to your survival. Here's how to play:

• Starting the Game In the game, you are the bratty kid armed with a slingshot and a carton of eggs. The goal is to survive the night by fending off waves of zombies with your limited supply of eggs. You can move around the graveyard, aiming and firing at the approaching zombie horde to stop them from getting too close.
• Firing Your Slingshot Your main weapon against the zombies is your slingshot, loaded with eggs. You can aim and shoot eggs to knock back or temporarily disable the zombies before they bite you. Since your supply of eggs is limited, you must be strategic with your shots, aiming only when the zombies get close to saving precious ammo.
• Zombie Bites and Infection You can take up to five bites from zombies before you become fully infected and join the undead. Each bite brings you closer to the end, and if you are bitten five times, it's game over. However, there’s another risk—if you run out of eggs and get bitten, it’s an instant game over, no matter how many bites you’ve already taken.
• Resupplying Your Eggs During the game, you’ll have one chance to resupply your eggs. A drop of fresh eggs will appear at some point, but surviving long enough to reach this resupply is a challenge. Timing is critical—avoid wasting too many eggs early on, or you may find yourself scrambling to reach the egg drop before the zombies overwhelm you.
• Surviving Until Dawn The game is set under a full moon, and you must survive until the moon sets to win. The zombies will keep coming, and your only hope is to outlast them by conserving your ammo and avoiding bites. Since Zomb-Ex, the substance that brings the dead to life only works under a full moon, your mission is to make it through the night by staving off the undead long enough for the moon to set and the zombies to return to their graves.
