Five Nights At Freddy's (FNAF) is one of the most famous survival horror games of the past decade. First released on August 18, 2014, by developer Scott Cawthon, the game quickly became a global phenomenon thanks to its unique gameplay, creepy space, and haunting "animatronic" characters.
In the game, you will transform into a night guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza restaurant—where funny robots perform during the day but suddenly turn into terrifying creatures when night falls.
The game's setting is inspired by the late 20th century. Players work the night shift at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza restaurant—a place decorated in a retro style. During the day, this is a paradise for children to play with famous characters like Freddy, Chica, Bonnie, and Foxy. But when night falls, these robots have strange and scary behaviors.
Your mission is to survive 5 nights (and many expansion modes) while monitoring security cameras and opening and closing doors in time to avoid being attacked.
You play the role of a night guard, without weapons, with no place to hide. The only weapons are sharp observation and quick reflexes to control the camera system, lights, and doors.
The special feature of FNAF is that instead of weapons, players only have 11 surveillance cameras to observe the movements of the animatronics. Players need to reasonably calculate the amount of electricity used when opening the camera, turning on the lights, and closing the door, because energy is limited and exhaustion means death.
